This mid-range “sports” model offered a good range of features and was reasonably compact. An auto-reverse cassette mechanism, Dolby B NR and an AM/FM stereo radio were all included. The splashproof casing was held shut during playback by a large black plastic catch around the tape transport keys. The radio section was mainly constructed in the cassette door, so it was not possible to offer a large cassette viewing window. The only way the user could see the direction of tape travel was to look through a small round hole that made the centre of one of the tape spools visible. Text copyright © Walkman Central.
