WM-DD30

This model was a simplified version of the WM-DC2. By this stage, Dolby C NR did not turn out to be as popular as had first been thought and so was not considered necessary on a personal stereo. Because of this, the Dolby C decoder was removed, along with the line out socket, which reverted to its original function as a second headphone connector. The quartz locked disc drive capstan servo remained though. A “Mega Bass” loudness function was added, as was the trend in the Walkman range at the time. Text copyright © Walkman Central.
